In Hinduism, a Stotra is a hymn of praise. These hymns praise aspects of the divine, such as Devi, Siva, or Vishnu. Stotras, according to Swami Tapasyananda, are invariably uttered aloud and consist of chanting verses conveying the glory and attributes of God.
You may personally experience the power of a stotra through the community of devotees on youtube. When I first heard the Shiva Dvadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram on youtube that I experienced the divine bliss of the sacred tounge.
