Welcome to the Society for Ethical Ethnobotanical Distribution
Seed was an idea founded around 2003 and we even had a few domains registered, good feedback from earth erowid (i gotta find that email) and a large group wishing to support the concept. SEED or Society for Ethical Ethnobotanical Distribution is an organization focused on preventing the exploitation of native tribe peoples as well as the plants that they are harvesting for these big business ethnomarket rackateers.
We have seen a lot of misinformation and misidentified research materials infect the market on several occasions including an large flux of falsely identified argyreia nervosa, innactive mitragyna species being sold as kratom, several misidentified trichocereus cacti being marketed as rare species, etc. SEED works to not only ensure the safety and fairtreatment of the natives but the plants as well. It is important to secure the plants use for future generations and many plants are getting negative press and becoming outlawed and I believe we will see this increase greatly over the next few years. SEED works to prevent this by helping assure that our valuable research materials and even our sacred sacrements don't get into the hands of people who use it out of proper context, without the proper intent , without a true understanding of what it is they are utilizing (although most distributors disclaim any legal liability from consumption and do not sale for consumption) and prevent individuals who will misuse the sacrements in an incorrect way that may be potentially hazardous to others and or themselves.
